With the advent of individual music devices, television, and video games real play is in decline. Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children. Play both reflects and stimulates child development, for example, a child building a tower of blocks, displays there dexterity and coordination. It stimulates cognitive functions concerning cause and effect. Children express their feelings such as frustration or success, and even social skills by his ability to wait his turn if building the tower with others.

Play also offers an ideal opportunity for parents to engage fully with their children. When they play with their children they can forget their troubles and be creative and original with their children, It’s also easier on the children when play is part of their daily lives. Rather than being told to wash their hands all the time, think about how they would feel if their parents said they should try the magic bar that will erase all the dirt on their hands?”

Play and an attitude of playfulness can make everyone’s life more interesting and enjoyable.
